After Installation

What happens with my old projects and product databases?
The installation of ETS5 does not change any data of previous versions of ETS.

What happens with my old ETS licenses?
The installation of ETS5 does not remove ETS3, or ETS4 licenses, therefore if you have an ETS3 and/or an ETS4 version installed on your computer it remains licensed.

Interface to KNX

IP (KNXnet/IP)

The installation of ETS5 running on the above mentioned operating systems in a virtual environment (such as Virtual PC®; VM Ware®) and/or via Remote Desktop is not foreseen. The working in such environments is at your own risk. In this case, warranty and support is not given by KNX Association.

The software components required for ETS5 (like e.g. the .NET framework) are not installed on a Windows 8 machine via the setup tool. Instead the setup informs the Windows 8 operating system on the need for such components. Windows 8 will load these components via internet or from a DVD and install them. Via Windows Update and if connected to Internet, the OS automatically checks for updates of these components and will install them. During such updates, ETS5 setup will be interrupted.
