October 2014 – Conference at University of Applied Sciences RheinMain – Wiesbaden, Germany
As every two years, last week again saw the bi-annual heyday of the KNX Scientific partners with the organization of the KNX Scientific Conference.
Contrary to the 2012 edition (which had been organized in Gran Canaria/Spain), this time KNX had opted for a more reachable destination in the city of Wiesbaden close to Frankfurt in Germany, more specifically at the University of Applied Sciences RheinMain.
The audience of more than 60 participants was again a nice mix from different backgrounds: also the contributions reflected this background, some of them made by industry and some by the scientific partners.
As had been done for the first time at the KNX scientific conference in Gran Canaria, this year the audience were again invited to cast their votes on the contributions, with the goal of handing out the KNX Scientific Award to the best presentation, by not only judging the novelty of the topic, the overall quality of the presentation but also the added value of the topic for KNX.
Following the vote from the public, the presentation of Dr. Pees of Gira on using WIFI for KNX communication came third, the one of Mr. Le Men of ABB Newron Systems demonstrating the powerful ETS App ‘Moovin’ Group’ came second and that of Mr. Praus of University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien on KNX and Security came first, making him the new lucky owner of € 3000 of prize money.
The conference again showed that a challenging future lies ahead of KNX and that the scientific conference is appreciated by the audience as a high value conference for the exchange of views on ongoing technical evolutions, directly or indirectly influencing the future of KNX.
October 2014 – KNX Development Getting Started Workshop at University of Applied Sciences RheinMain – Wiesbaden, Germany
Last week, KNX International was able to welcome some 60 participants in the city of Wiesbaden/Germany to a KNX Development Getting Started Workshop hosted by the University of Applied Sciences RheinMain.

KNX would like to thank the companies of Elmos, ise, ON Semiconductor, Siemens, Tapko and Weinzierl for their valuable contributions as well as the University of Applied Sciences RheinMain for hosting the workshop. Also thanks goes out to TÜV Rheinland, who made a guest appearance to explain their services as a KNX accredited test lab for performing KNX interworking/functionality tests and to acquaint the audience with the principles of the KNX product certification process.

October 2004: Conference at FH Deggendorf, Germany
In collaboration with the Fachhochschule Deggendorf KNX Association organised for the 8th time in a row this conference. The objective of this conference is to reunite the industry represented by our members and the World of Science represented by Universities and Technical High Schools all over the world.
This conference is often the basis of new ideas in research and promotion subjects on one hand and the start of new product and system development on the other side, the industry. This exchange of information and partnership is the main driving force for this conference.
KNX Association organised for second time the Konnex Scientific conference, now hosted by the Fachhochschule Deggendorf,. More than 60 persons, including delegations from the Fair East attended the conference.
Scientific Conferences are organised every year as an exchange platform between Konnex members and the Konnex scientific partners, i.e. universities and technical institutes. Members present their latest system novelties, where the scientific partners are offered the possibility to present further possible innovations for the KNX technology, e.g. as elaborated in the framework of student projects.
